Our Story
Bowles Dairy was established in 1897 by Edward Augustus Bowles and Katie Loucille Porter Bowles. When Edward passed away his son Orval who farmed next door to his parents ran the farm but never owned it. In 1941, Kate sold the farm to her daughter Garnett for "a sum of one dollar and love and affection" Her nephew, (Orval's son) Kelly, bought the farm in the 60's and started to milk cows there again. His son Dirk is now owner and operator of Bowles Dairy. He and his wife, Pat, have seen many remodels and improvements. Nick, their son, is also on the dairy. He and his wife, Taylor, will be the 5th generation on the farm.

Bowles Dairy has a rich history and heritage. Dirk and Pat still reside in the family farm house. It was built by Kate and Edward and has also seen many remodels. They are currently milking around 300 cows in their herring bone barn. It is unique they are still milking under a wood barn that was put up by Edward Augustus.
